Recipe : Thai Cucumber Salad

Bored of eating the old regular Fresh Green Salad? So, cheer up; as today I'm going to introduce to you a new salad - the 'Thai Cucumber Salad'. The piquant combination of flavours such as tangy, sweet and spicy, make this healthy dish full of taste. So try it out definitely, maybe for a change of taste.

Thai cucumber salad



Ingredient :


  • Cucumber – 2
  • Vinegar – ½ tbsp
  • Red chili flakes – ¼ tsp or according to your taste
  • Salt – according to your taste
  • Honey - ½ tsp
  • Green or red onion – 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Groundnut – ½ tsp(roasted and crusted)
  • Olive oil – ½ tsp

Method

  • Peel the cucumber pattern-wise, and then cut it in thin slices.
  • In a bowl add cucumber slice, vinegar, chili flakes, salt, onion olive oil and honey.
  • Mix it well, so that cucumber slices get coated.
  • Refrigerate it for 2 hours or more.
  • Before serving add groundnut and mix well.
  • Your Thai Cucumber Salad is ready.
Note :
  • I had replaced sugar by honey in this recipe, as honey is more nutritious than sugar.
  • Green onion gives more authentic taste.
  •  According to your taste you can add olives, jalapeno and fresh cilantro.
