According to Ayurveda, bottle gourd is given the position of one of the most beneficial vegetables. It can cure many diseases, naturally. So, today I am going to share some of its benefits and the nutrients found in it.

Nutrients:

Bottle gourd is a treasure of nutrients.
In 100 grams of bottle gourd,
  • Water 96.1%
  • Carbohydrates 2.5%
  • Proteins 0.2%
  • Fats 0.1%
  • Fibres 0.6%
  • Sodium 1.8 mg
  • Magnesium 5.0 mg
  • Potassium 87.0 mg
  • Calcium 20.2 mg
  • Copper 0.3 mg
  • Iron 0.7 mg
  • Phosphorus 10.0 mg
  • Sulphur 10.0 mg
  • Vitamin B1 0.03 mg
  • Vitamin B5 0.2 mg
  • Vitamin C 6.0 mg
Benefits:

1. For heart:-
     It removes excess fat.
2. For liver:-
     It is a liver tonic, which removes toxins.
3. For high blood pressure:-
     Consume its juice, soup or veggie on a daily basis, to control your blood pressure.
4. For diabetes:-
     Consume its juice, soup or veggie on a daily basis, to control your diabetes.
5. For weight loss:-

  • When it tastes bitter;
  • When you have a tendency of catching cough and cold, i.e. coryza/catarrah, as it has a cold tendency;
  • It is not recommended to pregnant ladies, as it is constituted of 96% water that can create problems for them.
  • Don’t mix its juice with any other vegetables'.
