Recipe: Chiwda Vada

Ain’t you bored of the regular evening snacks? So, today I’m sharing with you a recipe of chiwda. No, it’s not poha! It’s a new innovative recipe, with a delicate taste. it is soft from inside and crispy from outside. Hence, presenting

Chiwda Vada



Ingredients (for 16 small vade):
  • Thin flattened rice {maheen chiwda/poha} 50gm
  • Boiled potato 4 small-sized
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves 10gm
  • Green chilies 2-3
  • Clarified butter {Ghee} 2tbsp


Method:
  1. Clean and wash chiwda, thoroughly. Let it stand for 15 minutes.
  2. Mash the potatoes.
  3. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, chilies, salt and chiwda. Mix it well.
  4. Now, make small balls out of this mixture. Flatten them to give a vada shape.
  5. Heat a frying pan and add ghee to it.
  6. Place the vade onto the pan and shallow fry them from both the sides till they become golden.
Your Chiwda Vade are ready. You may serve it with tomato ketchup, mint chutney, etc.


Note:- You may also add chopped onion in the 3rd step. It would make the vade juicy.
