Making dry vegetables in less oil
- Heat the regular amount of oil you use.
- Now, take out 2/3 of it & start making the veggie with the remaining 1/3 oil, as you make normally.
- Most of the vegetables release water but some needs water to be added while being cooked. That's why the excess amount of oil, if added in the beginning, only gets wasted.
- So, once the veggie is cooked properly, keep adding small amounts of oil, periodically, when its time to sauté the veggie.
- Keep doing oil addition (in small amounts) & sauté, till the time you think the veggie is ready.
- You will be surprised to note that your veggie is ready having some oil left from the quantity you normally take.
- This tip would not only reduce the use of oil but also make the veggie tastier.
I will be posting a tip tomorrow on how to make deep fried vegetables in less oil.
