Recipe : Colocasia in masala gravy

I brought a query, that how to prepare colocasia( अरबी) in such a way that it does not itches. It's a problem for colocasia lovers,that while having, it gives itching sensation inside the throat.
यहां तक कि एक कहावत भी प्रचलित है कि अरबी खाने से अगर खुजली होती है, तो या तो खाओ मत,या फिर खाओ और खुजाओ
So here's the solution
कि खाओ , और वो भी बिना खुजाए

Colocasia in masala gravy









Ingredients:

Colocasia :               1/2kg
Onion :                     3 to 4 medium
Garlic pod :              5 to 6
Ginger :                     1/4 inches
Salt                             as per taste
Turmeric powder :  1/4 tsp
Coriander powder : 1tsp
Garam masala :        1/4 tsp
Chilly powder :         as per taste
Mustard oil     :          2 tbsp

Method :

  • Peel all the colocasia, properly.
  • Now cut it vertically like thin wedges
  • Then, wash them  2 to 3 times and let all the water drain out.
  • Prepare a paste of onion, garlic and ginger.
  • Now in a pressure cooker, heat oil. 
  • When the oil is heated, put colocasia into it.
  • Fry it, on high flame.
  • When colocasia becomes golden brown, take it out from the cooker. And  put the masala paste into the cooker,at sim flame .Then, add all the dry masala(mentioned in the ingredients) & sauté it little
  • Now add the fried colocasia & mix them well.
  • Sauté it properly and add water into it(according to your gravy requirement).
  • Allow 2 whitsle on high flame and 1 at sim 
  • If you want, you can garnish it with coriander leaves.
