Tip : Long-lasting food for a journey

Long-lasting food for a journey

Are you worried that your food gets spoiled very soon when you take it on a journey?

Here are some tips by my mother Dr.Gita Lal Ji on how to long-lasting your food, when taking it on a journey.
  1. Don't pack pooris just after frying (when they are hot). Let them cool down, this would prevent them from getting soggy and would allow the pooris to stay longer.
  2. While cooling and packing pooris, stack them first. This will keep them soft.
  3. Don't cook the vegetables in a hurry, instead start cooking it from one hour before. This would provide you enough time to cook it.
  4. To pack green stuff for a journey, prepare it in more oil as usual. But beware that it's not that much that it would spoil other things kept near it. Roast the stuff till all the oil is absorbed.
  5. When the veggies are prepared, spread it up in a tray or a plate and keep it under the fan. This would hardly take 20-25 minutes.
  6. Prepare any vegetable from raw i.e. don't boil it before cooking.
  7. Don't cook anything in oil used earlier to make anything else.
  8. Whenever you are serving veggies, use a spoon.
  9. Pack pooris and veggies in different containers.
